In order to attempt this course students must have achieved at minimum a Gold pass at Level 1 or have completed and passed the level 2 course at any grade.

Advanced, Level 3 courses are the most challenging of the courses offered by the BADC. At this level, five weapon systems are studied, including 18th century smallsword, which is the only compulsory discipline involved, the rest of the weapon systems are left to the discretion of the teacher running the course.

Any weapon system previously studied may be re-visited, or new disciplines introduced. Examples of Advanced systems include Case of Rapiers, Rapier & Cloak, Nunchaku etc. Once again, for examination, students have to present a fight in theatrical context with a text but the significant difference with the advanced examination is that the expectations of performance outcomes are considerably higher than at level 1 or Level 2 and the assessment is graded according to more demanding criteria. The outcomes of this course are a full and clear understanding of the weapon systems and the technical and presentational skills required to perform stage combat at professional level.

Exam Grades: Fail, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Recommendation
